A Passion for Tasmanian Seafood
Established in 2007 by Michael and Tabitha, Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods began with a passion for Tasmania's Southern Rock Lobster industry.
Based in Cambridge, just minutes from Hobart Airport, the business initially specialised in live Southern Rock Lobster, with strong connections to Tasmania's fishing, processing and seafood distribution industries.
Over the years, Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods expanded into fresh seafood retail, offering a wider selection of Tasmanian fish and seafood for customers to enjoy at home. Cooked seafood was later introduced, including traditional fish and chips, and the business gradually developed into the award-winning restaurant it is today.
Throughout that journey, our focus has remained on showcasing quality Tasmanian seafood, from Southern Rock Lobster and freshly shucked oysters to our nationally recognised fish and chips.

Our restaurant features a live Southern Rock Lobster tank, where customers can see these iconic Tasmanian crustaceans up close.
We serve Southern Rock Lobster in a variety of ways, from freshly prepared lobster dishes to traditional favourites such as lobster mornay.
Customers can also purchase live Southern Rock Lobsters to prepare at home or pre-order freshly cooked lobsters for takeaway, subject to availability.

Over the years, Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods has become a popular stop for both locals and visitors travelling through Cambridge and Hobart Airport.
Today, we're a fully licensed seafood restaurant offering indoor dining, outdoor seating and a large heated marquee for groups, functions and celebrations.
We're open seven days a week, serving lunch and dinner, with meals available throughout the afternoon.
Customers can dine in, order takeaway or purchase selected fresh Tasmanian seafood to prepare at home.
Our relaxed setting makes us a welcoming destination for everything from a quick seafood lunch to a family celebration or a meal before heading to the airport.
Taking Tasmanian Seafood on the Road
In 2020, Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods expanded beyond its Cambridge restaurant with the introduction of mobile seafood vans, bringing live Southern Rock Lobster, fresh seafood and cooked seafood directly to communities across Tasmania and regional Victoria.
The initiative began during the COVID-19 pandemic, when the seafood industry faced significant challenges and new ways were needed to connect Tasmanian seafood producers with customers.
Working alongside Tasmanian lobster fisherman Brendon "Squizzy" Taylor, known from the television series Aussie Lobster Men, the vans travelled throughout Tasmania and across Bass Strait into Victoria, making Tasmanian seafood more accessible to customers outside Hobart.
What began as a way to bring fresh seafood directly to communities has since grown into an important part of Tasmanian Gourmet Seafoods.
Today, our two fully equipped mobile food vans regularly attend food and wine festivals, community events and celebrations across Tasmania.
We also provide mobile seafood catering for weddings, corporate functions and private events, continuing our tradition of bringing quality Tasmanian seafood to customers wherever they are.
